Another beautiful town in Bad-Wurttemberg, Bad Wimpfen has history dating back to the middle ages. Situated on the river Jagst, the town has some of the most incredible buildings and architecture for what one would consider a smaller city, including a 600 year old Protestant church with some of the most unusual crucifixion sculptures I’ve ever seen. On a day trip there, we also had the chance to visit the famous Blue Tower which was used to spot invaders ahead of time, allowing the citizens to fortify the walls and prepare to repel their enemies.
There is way too much info for me to add here, so go to Bad Wimpfen’s homepage for the lowdown on the rich history of the city, as well as the info on the famous Christmas market.
