Day 1 of the South By Southwest Music Conference has come and gone. Thankfully, I was able to curtail the crappiness floating through my bloodstream long enough to make it out for the 1st night.

All of the gigs were fan-fucking-tastic. Yuppie Pricks were in rare form, with Trevor throwing a golf club off of the third floor balcony, smashing a car window below. Nice Job!
Catching up with Eric Hisaw after some 15 years was fucking brilliant as well. His music kicked ass, as usual.
The Pinstripes were surprisingly good, mixing modern Brit-Pop with some loundness.  The Von Bondies were fucking awesome. Really sound performance, and the new music is great.  Catching the Pink Swords for the first time in two years was a surprise, but a good one at that. Drunk as hell, but they still performed well.

The only bummer was missing Naked Raygun. Apparently, the gig was too small for the band. Only a certain amount of people could get in, and I wasn’t one of them. Shit sandwich.
